I Need Your Help: Develop Your Own Coaching Sessions

by theabundantartist

stop collaborate listen

I have a lot of artists email or call me about what they can do to get started online. I think answering their questions is one of the best parts of doing what I do, but I don’t always have time to answer all of those questions, especially not at the depth that the questions deserve. I frequently have to direct people back to the blog for a fuller answer.

When I first launched The Abundant Artist I did a couple of group coaching sessions that ended up going pretty well. I’d like to do one again, but I’m going to approach this one a little bit differently.

I’m going to offer a group coaching session starting at the beginning of April. That course is going to be a little bit different, however.

The content will be decided on by you, dear reader.

Now of course, there are a range of topics that we could cover.

  • Building websites – what goes on a good site?
  • Email marketing & newsletters
  • Social Media
  • Search engine marketing

I’m going to leave this post at the top of the blog over the next few weeks while we gather input from the readers on what you’d like to have in a group coaching session.

Why let us decide on the content?

Great question. I know what questions I have about internet marketing, and I know what some of you have asked, but I don’t always know when I design a course what the reception of the course will be. With the interactive nature of the web being what it is, I figure I might as well let all ya’all help me help you.

You already know that I provide a lot of useful content, and I can ramble on and on about selling art online – but what do you really need to know?

So, what do you say? If I were going to do another group coaching session, what would you like to see?

Hello. I am Gyuri Kim who is in Kansas, and i will go back to my country, South Korea after i finish my curriculum of BFA, Painting.
During being in USA, I got to know how to make contact and how to achieve my works and get them exposed to outside. However, I am afraid of keeping what i do while i am in South Korea. I want to get my works exposed in USA, UK and EU because of my aesthetic style and plenty of art opportunities. Even though Twitter, Face book and blogs will help me a lot, I assume that i will have further problems. First, I cannot sell my works because of heavy shipping fee while i go back to my country. Second, I cannot be involved in any of art organization because they are basically based on region. I will have geographic problems. The organization site or agency will offer a lot of opportunities, Grants, Performance and events through Social Media though, I won’t be able to take part in. I will be buried in oblivion.
I am sad that I perhaps am going to lose the contacts but I really want to be socialized and build connects to USA, UK and EU. What i can do? How i can promote my works, sell works, introduce my works, grasp attentions on my painting ‘internationally’ by myself without any support from Museum or Galleries.

I’d like to see information about how to sell on-line without setting up an expensive shopping cart system on my web site yet still have galleries take my art seriously.
Thanks

Two emails that I received today:

“just how to sell art online – period.”

“I would like to learn the best way to find clients that will buy.” Jeffrey

Thanks for your comments and emails everyone. I’m keeping this post sticky on the blog to continue to collect more ideas.

Well I want to teach musicians how to
succeed in the business without having
to play big arenas or sell a 100 thousand
albums.

Creating value for musicians is what’s
important to me.

thanks mark. have you seen Jason Parker’s blog, One Working Musician? It’s a great site.

I’m really all about the idea of being able to make a great living without traveling all the time or having to do huge shows.
