The State of the (Abundant) Art(ist)

Today I just want to say how grateful I am to all of you. If you’re reading this, yes, I mean you. It’s been a pretty incredible couple of weeks.

Readership is up. Way up. There’s a little widget on the bottom right hand corner of this site that indicates the number of people who are reading via RSS, but that doesn’t reflect the traffic from search engines, email lists (sign up here), and social media. I’m really happy with how things are growing.

Last week I announced that I’m doing a new group coaching course, starting April 1st, 2010. I’m doing something a little bit different with this one – I’m letting all of you tell me what you’d like to see in the course. So far, I’ve received a few dozen emails, a bunch of Tweets, and some comments on the Facebook fan page. Yesterday I asked about whether or not you’d like to learn the principles of selling. The response has been a lot of fun.

Also last week I put out a call to artists who might be interested in opportunities to display their art online and to get some links to their websites. That day, between Flickr, Facebook, and email I had about 40 images shared with me. You’ll see some of them on my Flickr page under the Used for Blog Posts and Considering for Blog Posts Galleries.

I’m so very appreciative of all of you for visiting the site, spreading the word, and welcoming me into your community. Like I said this morning on Facebook & Twitter – people are so much more creative than we give them credit for; more creative, in fact, than they give themselves credit for. I hope that I can help every artist nurture their creativity, feel empowered, and live the life of an Abundant Artist.

Thanks again, for all that you do.
